Election Season

Election time is now a season of its own. There are summers and rains in Madras. But every 4 years, there is an election as well. So then, just how grandly is this season celebrated? It‘s grander than the welcoming of spring (Sakranti). There are stalls selling s(w)eats; there is competition and teams are formed to win this competition.
So, my experiences of this season have not been too pleasant. From the inconveniences of the setting up of these stalls to the blocking of traffic to show their presence, it is very hard to believe how these competitors expect the support of the public while they cause hindrance to normal life. They say it is a democratic way of winning an election. Well, let me then narrate a story of how these celebrations happen:
I walked into a pharmacy and asked for Cetrizine, but the pharmacist could not understand what I was saying. Not because he didn’t know what Cetrizine was, but because he couldn’t hear me, due to the loudspeaker blaring outside. (I finally wrote it down and showed it to him.) What was with the noise? A huge campaigning stall was put up to persuade people to help them win the competition. I had to walk through the bamboo sticks holding on the courtroom of the moment. I wondered how ironic this could be.
In the name of winning the hearts and minds of the citizens, the competitors could actually be the reason for the same failing. So then to understand what goes behind all this, I decided to stick around and eavesdrop on the conversations that the organizers were having. All I could understand from it all was that they were doing it for “The Monk”.
The bamboo handler was discussing with his colleague about how his wife had gone to the government hospital for treatment for one of their kids and was asked for Rs. 150. He had then called the ‘Thalai’ (Head) of this competing team who had apparently then ensured free treatment for them. So the colleague asked if his purpose of being part of this competition team was for the influence. And he replied immediately ‘I do this to earn an income of respect, but at the same time my family is important to me and if I need to use influence I will’.
When the entire celebration came to the end, the people on the dais disappeared into thin air. Then came these men in full white clothes with 2 suitcases and following them were the bamboo, lights, speaker and chair men. But, interestingly the white-clad men kept walking & talking for almost 20 minutes and then I noticed a police jeep pass by. Once they were gone the distribution began.
Negotiations were agreed upon with a bottle of dark brown liquid as the currency. Understandable, after a hard day’s work in the new season. The event ended after a laugh about one of the old colleagues using the pharmacy chairs to sleep with an open mouth
So then I went back and thought about what had happened in the last few minutes. And this is what I realized:
The Pharmacy Store – Though it was aware of about the illegality of the gathering, it is guilty / conscious at the same time about its historical economical illegalities.
The Background Workers of the Competition – People want to work for a respectful income but are stuck in the cycle of dependencies, thus leading them to being permanently involved in the scheme of the not-so-interesting Election Season.
The Disappearing into Thin Air Speakers – I wonder if these are the people who are the real competitors, who would, on winning, take care of their listeners. In fact, not being bothered about the background workers who bring their capabilities to light of how would they handle the others and be leaders
The Suitcase Carriers – These are puppets who try to be powerful and influential but actually have none of it. These are the suppressers of the real workers by taking credit of the actual work done.
The Listeners/Citizens – Did we even see them or hear about them in the entire story? No, because they are not of any importance and whether they like it or not, one of the Disappearing Speakers who is in the competition is going to be their ‘Leader’.
Moral of the Happenings:
Let the Background Workers participate in the competition. They would have experienced the problems and the solutions up close, so they would be the best to be ‘Our Leaders’.

Car Reversing

Have you ever considered the thought process involved in the simple act of a car being reversed? I have wondered why it is that the entire process tests one’s patience and then I understood the different mind sets of people involved.
Ok, so let’s take a louse’s-eye view into the brains of different people on the road when a car is being reversed:
Car Reverser: Oh darn, I don’t know what distance behind I need to move. I hope that the bike guy is not abusing me while I am doing this.
Bike Guy: Is this Car Reverser really a car driver? He’s taking AGES to reverse. I need to get to the doctor’s clinic for my appointment.
Cart Guy: I’d better move out of here faster. This a** is in the wrong place. I give him exactly 6 seconds more to clear the way.
Walking Lady: Should I walk in front of the car and cross or wait for others to also move?
Car Reverser: Ok, I’m stuck now. This car is too big for me. F***, why did I even buy it? These waiting monsters are going to kill me..
Bike Guy: I’m just not going to make it unless I slip into that gap at the back. So let me just try…
Car Reverser: What’s this bike guy doing? He’s going to hit my car!
Horn Sound: Beep! Beep!
Bike Guy: Oh s***, I’m stuck! And I’ve made it difficult for the Car Reverser as well. What was I thinking?
Cart Guy: While these 2 sons of guns sort this out, let me get out through the front.
Car Reverser: Darn. I’m unnecessarily causing problems for the people on the road. Ok, let me try this again…
Walking Lady: What’s going on?
Auto Guys/Ironman passing by: What the f*** is wrong with the car reverser? Let me teach him a lesson and probably help this figure-aa cross the road. Then I will be Rajni- saar for her.
Car Reverser: Ahh, I’m almost done. Sorry to all for the inconvenience.
Bike Guy: Finally!  I will make it to the vet to sell him these new vitamin tablets for animals…
Cart Guy: Finally! This F*** face has moved his S*** A** out of the way…
Walking Lady: Alright then, let’s go!
So doing a louse’s reading of these people in this small situation, we can understand how each one of them is either hindering or hampering society’s growth.
Car Reverser – He is a person who is insecure and worried about what people around him would think. The people around him, though very small in number, have put enough pressure on him to make him lose his confidence.
People like him need to be assisted rather than judged by society, as his growth is part of societal growth.
Bike Guy – He has no qualms about anything, and his priority is to meet his own goals. Is a person like him who is running through life unaware of the small joys of life? He is someone who needs recognition and no matter how, he will crave for it.
People like him need to be stopped and encouraged to enjoy life at its own pace. As society does not move with his pace and it just a plane over which he exists.
Walking Lady – She is a lost soul who is neither bothered about herself nor about the people around. All she wants to do is to be there and go with the flow.
People like her are essential for society to balance itself. She would just let the scheme of things be as they are.
Cart Guy – Now this is the guy who is the real louse. He is impatient, not bothered about the existence of others around. Also, he has the ego to believe he is the most important to this entire scheme of life but does not realize that he is just a louse after all.
People like him, either need to realize that the fact is, they are just lice in the entire scheme or they have to be plucked out for isolation for a while. They could spread rapidly, if not controlled or developed in the right manner.
So, every small incident in the entire scheme of life can bring out different perspectives….

Why the name?

Alright...many people asked me what does the name of this blog mean..So I am just going to break it down and explain

The first word Societal I am sure is very straight forward..To do with the society

Infertilices is something which is meant to mean this way...Fertilizers are used as catalyst to the growth of the essential needs…So I have changed the word to Infertilices to mean lice (in this scheme humans) which are hindering the entire scheme of society where they are just any minuscule part

So hope this would make sense through the articles and views I post

Whats This all About??

Well so I decide to write a blog...And what is this all going to be about? Simple experiences around me which actually are a menace to the society..Things done by people who are significantly small to this entire scheme of world but can cause a chain reaction of small events leading to a practice in the society

An inexperienced blogger..Known to/learned of only simple English, I would try to narrate my stories as close to the real experience as I can...

Stuff I would like to write about is Traffic Vultures, Rallyist who pay people to listen to them when the actual democratic decision maker is at inconvenience, Societies who in name of the all mighty cause harm to his own teaching of 'Live and Let Live'...

So to know more about these stories..Request your patience as you would when facing the above situations...

Coming Soon....
